Overview

The Custom LED 25-Watt Load Equalizer (formerly known as our Stage II Load Equalizer) may be for you if your OEM turn signal lamps are 20 to 30 Watts each, and the following matches your situation after changing them:

the blinkers work but blink faster than stock
the blinkers do not blink at all - either they turn on and stay on solid or they don't even come on at all
the left and right directional signals illuminate at the same time when activated (4-way blink problem)

Our 25-Watt Load Equalizer is basically a 25 Watt power sink that will make the OEM flasher relay think your stock turn signal bulbs are still there! This means, if you install our 25-Watt Load Equalizer in each blinker location that there was a 20 to 30 Watt OEM incandescent turn signal lamp - that has been replaced by an LED lamp - your blinkers will blink normally.

Our 25-Watt Load Equalizer is enclosed in a water tight housing that can be mounted anywhere on the bike. Our Load Equalizer is also perfect for automobile applications that have a dedicated turn signal circuit (not shared with the brake light for example. If shared, you will need our Heavy Duty 25-Watt Load Equalizers instead).

Our Load Equalizer couldn't be easier to install! The device is small and connects to the turn signal wires only. Your order will come with detailed instructions and simple tap connectors that do not require any cutting of the factory wiring!

Our Load Equalizers are over-designed and over-sized for excellent heat capacity. They will not get too hot under normal operation. You wont have any overheating problems with our products!

In general, you will need one Load Equalizer for each stock blinker bulb you removed or replaced with LEDs or smaller incandescent bulbs. You will need one Load Equalizer for each side, therefore orders are automatically placed in pairs.

Perform exactly as required.

I purchased these to correct the flash rate when I converted to LED blinkers on my 2016 Honda Africa Twin, and they were just the ticket. The simple cut wire leads allowed for easy adaptation using OE connectors for install (personally don’t like using Scotch-locks). They function flawlessly, but as with any load equalizer they can heat up if used for any decent amount of time. Under normal conditions, it shouldn’t be an issue. The CRF1000L does have a unique characteristic, in that the front signals are only two-wire but still function as running lights during normal operation. The way this is accomplished is via a digital flasher relay providing a 28% PWM signal to the front blinkers normally, and switching to a 0%/100% alternating signal when the turn signal switch is activated. This causes the front two load equalizers to maintain some temperature (fluctuating, but +100 degrees F) at all times. We’ll see what sort of effect this constant 28% duty cycle will have on them long term, but thus far they’ve been just fine. Great product from Custom LEDs!

I have purchased led headlights with both white running light halos,red wire connection and turn signal amber light with green wire connection. When connected as pairs (headlights) the drls function, but when the amber turn light is powered with a led flasher, the halo turns amber color, but will not flash on either headlight. Do you have a product or a remedy which will correct this problem?

Hi Doug, what vehicle did you install this on? Did you remove/replace any of the OEM turn signal lamps, if so what was the wattage of them? Does the turn signal circuit you are connecting the green wire to have intermittent voltage, or is it just steady? Do the rest of the turn signal lamps on the vehicle function normally?

Hey guys so I have a 1990 suzuki vx I have changed my turn signals to trcikiling led. I've pitched your electronic relay as they would not work now I have all 4 then signals on. Will installing those eliminate the issue?

Hello Pj, thank you for contacting us regarding your motorcycle. The flasher relay only controls the speed of the blinkers - nothing more. The problem you describe is what we call the 4-Way blink problem. This issue has nothing to do with the flasher relay itself. I have a 2012 Harley Davidson vrscdx. I am replacing the front turn signal with led strip turn signals. It is replacing 1157 bulbs. Would this be appropriate as a fix for hyper flash?

Hello David, thank you for your interest in our products! Yes absolutely, the 25W Load Equalizer is the correct choice when replacing 1157 bulbs with LEDs. The Load Equalizes will replace the load of the turn signal filament (25W) in the bulb, thus satisfying the flasher relay.

Chances are your new LED strips are only 2-wire though, so you may also want to pick up a pair of our Blinker Genies to allow these LED strips to function as a running light AND turn signal. Normally with a 2-wire LED strip, you would just have turn signal operation. 2012 Yamaha v-Star 950. I’m converting all halogen turn/riding lights front and turn/brake to led switchback. You have a elfr relay that I believe will replace my bikes relay but says if I want to keep the auto off blinker I need use this product ? Just want make sure this is correct?? Also do you carry front and rear switchback leds. Thanks.

Hello Randall, thank you for your interest in our products! Yes, you understood the information on our site perfectly well. The self-cancel feature on your motorcycle is built into the OEM flasher relay. If you wish to correct your blink speed AND keep the self-cancel feature, you must use Load Equalizers rather than replacing your OEM flasher relay.

Hi there. I have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline and a 2017 Mazda 3 that they use 7443 bulbs as turn signals and trying to switch to leds. Will this item gets really hot as the resistors do? I believe but not sure that the 7440 bulbs are 21watss. Thanks guy, looking forward to your email. Alex.

The 7440 bulb does appear to be a 25 Watt bulb. If the circuits you are applying the Load Equalizers to ONLY have 12V when the blinkers are on, then these Load Equalizers are safe to use. Some turn signal circuits are combined with the brake light circuit, and in that case long periods of brake application can lead to undesirably high temperatures on the Load Equalizers. In that case, you would want to use our Heavy Duty 25W Load Equalizer instead, and mount it somewhere deliberately accordingly.
