Best Communication and Product

My original order was lost in the mail and I sent one email and i've never gotten response back so fast from any company. They resolved the issue for me and sent me refund for the shipping and another tail light. Also this product has for sure the easiest installation and looks the best from anything else you can get. Highly recommend it.

Blaster X Integrated Tail Light 08 FZ1

Received the light only a week after placing the order. High quality product and very easy to follow instructions. Fitment was perfect as described. I bought the programming switch but just used it to set up the strobe effect I wanted and disconnected it. Also bought the LED flasher to use with it which worked perfectly. Extremely bright and easy to see. Can’t wait to get it out on the road when the snow melts.

Couldn’t be happier!

Great taillight, plug and play install was a breeze and the light is very bright and visible. The strobe effect on braking is a great safety touch I think.

I bought the tail light for my 2012 fz8. But the bike hit the ground hard and is no longer with us. .. I never had the time to install it. Will IT fit my just bought fz1 2014? Thanks

Hey there! I am going to purchase the blaster-x tail light for my 2011 Yamaha FZ8. Is all I need the tail light itself for it to work? Why purchase the recommended accessories (control switch, flasher relay)? What do they do? Thanks for your help.

Hello Stuart, thank you for your interest in our products!

I highly recommend the ELFR-1 LED Flasher Relay. Without it, your blinkers will blink fast if you remove any of the OEM turn signal lamps. This is the designed response of the OEM flasher relay to indicate that you have a light bulb burned out. By replacing the OEM relay with our ELFR-1, it will correct the blink speed front and rear, once and for all, no matter what type of blinker lamps you install.

The Yamaha 3-Wire turn signal splitters are useful if you want to run TWO sets of turn signals in the rear. Such as: our integrated tail light, in addition to OEM or aftermarket signals. The splitters will allow you to have two plug-in connections per turn signal circuit.

The Blaster-X Control Switch is used to program the tail light if you wish to change the default settings, and it gives you access to the emergency Strobe Mode as well (hazards to the MAX).

You can read more on the respective product pages, but that summary should get you started :) The tail light will work perfectly right out of the box, but for a proper installation we do recommend at leas the ELFR-1 if you have not already changed your OEM relay.

You definitely need to buy the relay. It acts as a resistor and will make the blinker work at normal speed. Without the resistor the blinker will blink too quickly (hyper blink). Its well worth the investment to do it right the first time and just buy everything they recommend for it. I'm very happy with mine.

Hello - I have the 2006-2015 YAMAHA FZ1 BLASTER-X INTEGRATED LED TAIL LIGHT installed on my 2013 Yamaha FZ1. I am very happy with the system. But recently I turned my bike on and my DASH turn signal lights are not blinking, they just kind of staying on when I turn on my blinkers (not blinking). Now my the front blinkers and back blinkers are working but they are blinking very slowly and intermittently. Also, my hazard lights do not blink. I have the ELFR flasher relay installed - do you think it went bad and I need a new one? Or, at least give it a try and see if it fixes blink rate? Also, I checked my fuses and they are all good. Thanks for your help. Pete

Hello Pete, the turn signal indicator lamp in the gauge cluster is a true indication of what voltage exists on the turn signal system. If it's coming on and staying on when engaging the turn signals, that means the flasher relay is not cycling. If it's staying on all the time (even without the turn signals engaged), then you have a back feed most likely from the front signals allowing running light voltage into the turn signal system.

You did not mention what type of front turn signals you have, but typically they should come on and stay on (just like the indicator bulb) if the flasher relay is not cycling properly. Our Blaster-X Tail Light has a feature in it called sure-blink, where it will blink on it's own internal timing in the event that the flasher relay is not functioning properly.

Failures with our ELFR-1 are extremely rare, and are usually due to overloads and short circuits. Even an intermittent short circuit (like an exposed wire that bounces occasionally onto a ground source) will eventually cause the ELFR-1 to fail without blowing the fuse. As our ELFR-1 is solid-state, it becomes the weak link in the circuit as it's only rated for 10A, and typically the turn signal fuse is rated for 20A. Please check all of your turn signal connections carefully. Also, pinched wires can cause shorts over time, so check the wires leading to the front signals and rear signals along the length.

Hello, and thank you for your interest in our products! You will find on the FZ1 tail light product page, that we recommend two accessories. The ELFR-1 LED Flasher Relay, and the Blaster-X Control Switch.

Replacing your OEM flasher relay with our plug-and-play ELFR-1 flasher relay will maintain the normal blink rate for ALL of the blinkers on the motorcycle, regardless of their type (LED, incandescent, etc). It is highly recommended that you purchase both recommended accessories with this tail light.
