Better than expected, exactly as advertised.

The LED Tail Light Assembly for my 2012 Ducati Multistrada Pike's Peak Edition from Custom LED was exactly what I needed. The original tail light assembly had gone bad, and I expected a big hassle to find and install a replacement unit. Custom LED made a truly plug and play solution for me.

Excellent fit and finish

As easy to install as it was to remove the OEM parts. Perfect fit and finish. The LEDs are BRIGHT. I'd say the blinkers are much more noticeable than stock as well. And now I won't have a smoke colored blinker as the right one collected gunk from the exhaust.

Made a big difference on my Ducati Multistrada

After nearly being rear ended by a riding companion due to limited visibility of the stock tail light in glare conditions, I found the Custom LED Blaster-X unit was just what I was looking for. The installation was very straightforward with such a well engineered product. The performance improvement was very noticeable to my riding partners and hopefully by the other vehicle drivers I share the road with. I combined the Blaster with a fender eliminator kit for a very streamlined final result. Easy to install and much more visible than the stock tail light/directionals.

I would like to install the blaster x on a 2013 MTS with a Rizoma fender eliminator kit. Do you know if any of those unsightly gaps in body work that you mentioned will be an issue with this combination?

Hello Greg, thank you for your interest in our products! Any properly designed "fender eliminator kit" should address any gaps left from removing the OEM fender. We don't have any direct experience with the Rizoma FE kit so I can't say specifically about this product. Rizoma would be best suited to answer this question.

I can tell you that the Custom LED replacement light fits exactly like the OEM tail light. Any conflict or issues you would have with the Rizoma fender eliminator kit would have to do with that kit. I fabricated my own aluminum piece to eliminate my fender and clean up the tail of my Multistrada and I am quite pleased.

No I don't think there will be any issue because the fit of the blaster x taillight is identical to the original equipment

Custom LED, Additional question about using your integrated turn signals along with the OEM or aftermarket rear turn indicators. Since yours is plug and play it sounds like you may have a source for OEM connectors. Would it be possible to make an additional harness (something between the bike wiring harness and your tail light) or add the wires (to your tail light connector) to power the OEM or aftermarket rear turn indicators without having to splice? Could you supply such a set-up or suggest where someone could source the OEM connectors to make one themselves? Thank you in advance for your time and recommendation

Hello Jason, I understand exactly what you wish to achieve. Unfortunately, we only carry the male side of the OEM turn signal connection - which is the side used on our integrated LED tail light. We would also need to carry the female side in order to make a Y adapter as you have requested. Occasionally we do get requests for such Y connectors, but not enough to justify making the molds for the connectors. I looked quick on eBay to see if anyone sold such a connector, and I only found the male and female separate.

In lieu of finding the Y connectors, I would recommend that you simply splice the brown or green turn signal input wires from our tail light onto the positive turn signal wire leading to your OEM or aftermarket AUX rear turn signals. You can use a quick-tap connector which will automatically displace a small amount of insulation to make the splice (rather than cutting), and you can make this splice on the turn signal lamp side of the OEM connector so that you are not splicing into the motorcycle harness itself.

Does this taillight with integrated turn signals replace the OEM rear turn indicators on the frame so they can be removed or is the integrated turn indicators IN ADDITION TO and works with the OEM rear signals? If not can they work together?

Hello John, and thank you for your interest in our products! Our tail light fits and mounts the same exact way as the OEM tail light and does not require any modifications whatsoever.

If your goal is to remove the OEM turn signals after installing our tail light, then our tail light offers a very effective integrated turn signal system which will suffice quite well.

If your goal is to use our tail light integrated turn signals in ADDITION to the OEM or aftermarket turn signals, you have that ability as well - but it will not be plug-and-play as there is only one turn signal connector per side on the motorcycle. In this case, you will splice the brown and green turn signal input wires from our tail light onto the positive turn signal wires on the auxilary turn signals.
